Self-care: Self-care is not selfish. It’s astonishing how many of us forget to care for ourselves – emotionally, mentally and physically. We get caught up in our daily routines and before we know it, self-care is slowly and quietly sitting on the back burner. Self-care is a lot more important than we lead ourselves to believe. Self-care is what keeps us sane. Giving ourselves some down time and allowing ourselves the opportunity to do the things we want/ need to, to unwind is imperative. It is during that down time that our batteries slowly recharge. With the right amount of self-care comes the right amount of our batteries being recharged, which allows us to successfully push ourselves in the right direction (whatever that may be) and accomplish the things we wish to accomplish. Without our batteries being recharged, we couldn’t possibly power through and stay motivated to reach our full potential. So, go ahead and take some time off. Go ahead and give yourself the time to need; whether it’s taking a long bubble bath or walking your dog or reading a book – DO IT. Shower yourself with self-care and remind yourself that your emotional, mental and physical health are crucial. Remind yourself that you matter.
